    1. I gather it’s tricky till they take hold, at which point they never stop. Do you plant them ‘in the green’ – I think they prefer this, but then of course this means cadging plants from people who are willing to dig them up for you.

  9. I had to check under the tree where mine are planted, but no sign of them at all. No aconites either, but a few crocus leaves poking through. We will get there and at least it feels as though the day is longer now, though I suspect today won’t as it is back to grey and the wet stuff.

  11. What a blessing to spot snowdrops 🙂

    I was just reading about them the other day, symbolizing new beginnings. Apparently the medieval monks picked them from Pyrenees and the Alps and and brought them to warmer lands of Europe.
    In Romania, because of the cold winters, they grow naturally 🙂

    1. How interesting! I like that story better than the one I heard in which they came from mountainous regions of Turkey Wherever hey first came from, they’re a real gift in the middle of winter.
