A Window to the Soul?

It’s been a strange Not-Quite-Christmas – in our case quite an enjoyable one, and today I’m going to offer a Not-Quite-Monday-Window. Why not? Eyes, it’s said, are the windows to your soul, and we saw plenty of eyes when we visited Knole Park the other Christmas with Team London. Those eyes belonged to some rather over-friendly sika deer. I’m not clear about whether deer have souls, but they they certainly provided a different sort of window through which we could remember our visit. Here’s a picture of me with my son and his son, as seen through the eyes of a passing deer.

  1. I never know what’s coming next with you! And that I regard as a good thing 🙂 🙂 Fabulous eye shot, Margaret! I’m glad that your Christmas was enjoyable. So was ours, in a restrained sort of way. Well, restrained till I started the wine when I was cooking, but that’s another story. Onwards to 2021!

    1. It’s a lovely place to explore. But the deer were a bit worryingly over-friendly. Here at Fountains, the deer require us to keep a respectful distance.

  9. What a clever shot! Still far too wet and windy here to go for a stroll, but I have found a place in Cornwall that has deer! Sadly closed until further notice so I don’t expect to be visiting any time soon.
