Around the World in Ten Photos (9)

I spotted yesterday’s rather eye-catching windows as we were walking back to the car park just beyond the old town area of Strasbourg. It seemed an appropriate place to visit as Britain embarks on its foolhardy plan to Take Back Control outside Europe. Oh to be in England, now that Johnson’s here …

I’ve given you some tough images to identify. Here, surely you can get the country right? And this town is a tourist destination, so maybe that too.

  5. Timber frame houses and gray skies. Northern Europe? Haven’t paid attention to Dutch and Danish churches, but Germany does have lots of slate on the roofs, so I bet do Belgian and Dutch. “Eckerts” and “Klosterbrau” probably rule out the Netherlands (also you already had a photo from there). Since Germany is taken, let me jump to Belgium. Bruges?

  7. From the language and the buildings I’m going with Germany, possibly Austria, but since you were in Strasbourg yesterday, then a place along the French / German border.

  9. Mmm, the zwiebelturm and text suggests Germany possibly, and the wooden building and your hint of tourist destination makes me take a wild guess at Rottenburg am Neckar.

  11. I know this place but I’ve never been there. A friend of mine used to go there when we lived in Germany. The restaurant is well known for its location with water flowing wherever you look and the town is built on 7 hills!
