Canary Wharf, Crossharbour, Cutty Sark, Mudchute, Pudding Mill Lane, Royal Victoria, West India Quay, Woolwich Arsenal.
Is it any wonder I love travelling on the Docklands Light Railway in London when I visit, with all those evocatively named stations, speaking among other things of London’s past as a thriving port? A port complicit in many things we’d rather forget, such as the slave trade, but can investigate at the Museum of London Docklands.
The journey is a window onto a watery world of harbours, jetties, watery cul-de-sacs and wharfs: old and new in close juxtaposition. And the windows of the train carriage itself reflects the cosmopolitan society that London has always been.
From Pyrenees to Pennines 
I love travelling on this one too, albeit not at rush hour!! I’ve yet to visit this museum, really must rectify that

I can only recall travelling on the DLR once and that was whilst hurtling about the city to reach designated viewing spots in support of both sons who were running their first marathons. Sadly, the delights of the station names and the watery vistas were lost on me then. But next time, next time… Eventually 😶 Meanwhile, I love that top shot; it should definitely be in a frame on a wall 🙂

I love Docklands, daughter and son-in-law had a key worker’s flat just outside- walk under the DLR railway bridge and you were back in the real world. We were quite disappointed when they left there as we loved visiting them and exploring.

Concur on the fun of the driverless aspect. My ‘grown up’ daughter (a closet fan of Geoff Marshall) is thrilled if she gets the front seat. PS – the rainy cranes is a great shot.
