Serendipitous Topiary?

Shadow puppetry by happenstance? Perhaps I’ve taken leave of my senses, but on a walk the other day, looking at the shadows cast across my path, all I could see in my mind’s eye was that scene in Little Red Riding Hood where she comes upon the wolf in Grandma’s bed.  ‘What big ears you have, Grandmama.’

I thought it was Top Topiary anyway, even if no garden shears were involved.

  1. It does! I was sitting on the garden bench and was convinced I could see The Scream by Munch in one of the trees!

  2. oh that’s wonderful – and the plants are racing as fast as they can to outpace Mr Wolf but he’s about to get one and sink his wicked teeth…. can you tell us what all the plants are that are contributing to the story? The one with the serrated edge (looks like a nettle) and the buds with pointy leaves which look like fuchsias but can’t be, and Mr Wolf himself?

    1. I don’t know that I can be exact. It was a path running between the Ure and a barley field. Nettles and grasses is the best I can do. I’ll look closely next time.

  3. I’m actually getting more out of the conversations on this post than the actual post itself, though I concede that it is definitely NOT Basil! 🤣
