Today is the day when the Three Kings – the same ones who visited the infant Jesus – begin their journey to visit all children in the Spanish speaking world to deliver presents to them. We watched the Carnival parade they brought with them as they passed through Barcelona earlier this evening. Dancing, singing, exhuberant and imaginative displays had us enthralled for an hour or more. It was never like this in biblical times, I’m sure.

What an awe inspiring event, thanks for recording it.

I’ve got better photos on my camera, but they will have to wait. It was a brilliant show.

I love Epiphany, almost as much as Christmas. It reminds me that we all seek truth and light. We all want the answers to all our questions. We are all searching, just as the Magi did so very long ago.

Wise words. And yes, Epiphany is much neglected in our culture nowadays.

I had not heard of this three kings tradition before. Very interesting, and what a fabulous parade.

Ah, how can you expect to get presents from them then? You must write to them next year 😉

That looks an eclectic mix! Was anybody brandishing a lightsaber? 😉

No. Bits of it were quite high-tech, but mainly it was a good old-fashioned parade. Better photos on my camera.

Those Spanish kids have it all figured out–a way to keep the Christmas presents coming!

Oh, it’s an ‘either or’ job. You can’t do both.

We managed to miss the local one but I’m sure Barca’s would have been much bolder and bigger. 🙂 🙂

Almost certainly. But next year, we may try to go to one of the local community events which also take place at the same time, for a different kind of fun.
