At Christmas, Tom & Sarah gave us a night camera, so we could see what went on in the garden after dark. So far no bears, wolves or lynx have revealed themselves. Sadly, no foxes, badgers or deer either, though we know they’re there: we just have to find the right spot.
This week however, with all the snow, the garden took on an other-worldly aspect. And the rabbits came out as little as possible. But here’s one who braved the cold. Please note the temperature.
And in the morning, as short periods of sunshine briefly melted the snow, we spotted, apart from rabbit prints…
…. and pheasant prints …..
….. human bootprints too.
Although I rather liked these ghostly negative image prints. I thought they looked out of this world.

We finally had a healthy (and rare) dose of snow down here. Fading fast now. But at least it’s warmed up!

I like the idea of a night camera – you certainly see the garden differently. Hope it’s warming up for you now. We’ve gone from minus 10 to plus 12 in 3 days.

Today we made it into positive temps for the first time in forever. The other night my son posted a photo of my two youngest grandchildren outside in the snow in the dark in their swimming costumes! Their idea 🤔😳

I love it. Ivy, my faithful dog and morning companion, we sitting on the couch this morning. She seemed content to stare out the window while I went about my morning routine of devotion and 5 Minute Journal. She has the nighttime camera that sees all and ears that hear all. It snowed last night – a wet crunchy snow perfect for footprints of all kinds. Have a wonderful day and thank you for the boost of wonder and curiosity. Peace.
