I’ve got some good news to share. But I plan to do so in another couple of days…. you’ll see why.
So today I’ve decided to follow American blogging friend Clay’s suggestion, and share a few pictures of an English garden in midsummer.
We are lucky. We rent a property attached to a large house. Surrounding this house is a large garden, which we’re encouraged to enjoy.
Here you are. Enjoy it with us.
I wish you could smell these roses.
The only part of the garden that’s truly ours. A few pots of herbs and flowers outside the door.
Waterlilies in the pond.
A self-seeded foxglove makes a bit of a statement.
Even the compost heap looks good.
Clematis cling to the wall.
The walled garden.
The pineapple tree in the walled garden.
The walled garden – looking towards the house.
The walled garden.

All the fun of the garden and none of the work, eh? That can’t be bad! Enjoy that special weekend xx

Not bad at all. But you know you love it really.

What Kalba said – I’m so jealous! If you miss the weeding, I can offer weekends in Suffolk, all meals included. 🙂

Be careful what you offer. That sounds an extremely fair deal 😉

You haven’t seen the size of our garden! Be careful what you volunteer for … 😀

You tease! Our garden looked quite good a week ago but now it’s a shrivelled wreck! But it’s not a walled garden like yours – still jealous!

Shrivelled? You’ll be moaning about the heat next!

How come English gardens always look so much better and more settled than American gardens? I wish foxgloves flourished here the way they do in the UK–I love them! It’s all beautiful!

This is a wonderfully mature garden: but the foxgloves find their own way in on the whole. and very nice too.
